The semi -precious stone Amethyst is a variety of quartz, it can range from light pink to purple. It’s name derived from the greek word Amethystos, which may be translated as ‘not drunked’ they believed that drinking from goblets carved from amethyst would prevent drunkenness. Amethyst is believed to help you help you think clearly and critically about situations. Medieval European soldiers wore amulets of amethyst as protection in battle, believing that it heals the body and would keep them cool headed.
